Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams born August 20, 1974 Aviano Italy American actress. Famous for her critically acclaimed performance of charming and naive individuals. Adams was raised in Italy as her father worked as a soldier in the U.S. military and she grew up within Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. In the early 1990s, Adams began dancing professionally with Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota and appearing in the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) about beauty pageants. Her screen debut was a huge success, in which she played an annoying but pleasant contestant, Janet relocated into Los Angeles where she began an acting career professionally. The couple also had children Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by actress Norma Shearer and signed a contract to join MGM in the 1940s. In the decade that followed her appearances in many popular films including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960), and Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1954 film).
